Day 1- Arrive Cochin |
Arrive Cochin - This city, with one of the finest Natural harbours in the World, has been Kerala’s center of trade for innumerable centuries. With its beautiful setting on a cluster of islands, narrow peninsulas and a long history. Immigration / customs. Day 2- Cochin |
Morning breakfast. Later city tour of Cochin. Cochin has one of the oldest churches in India, 500 years old Portuguese houses, cantilevered Chinese fishing nets, the historical Palace built by the Portuguese, Jewtown, complete with an immaculately preserved synagogues. Also visit Mattancherry Palace : Built by the Portuguese. More important are the astonishing Murals, depicting scenes from the Ramayana, Mahabaratha and puranic legends connected with Shiva, Vishnu, Krishna Kumara and Durga. These beautiful murals rarely seem to be mentioned, although they are one of the wonders of India. Overnight at the hotel. |
Day 3- Cochin - Munnar Surface 4 hrs |
Morning breakfast at hotel. Later proceed for Munnar is located at the Idukki district of Kerala State in India. The word "Munnar" means three rivers. 3 mountain streams (Madurapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala) are joining together here. During the British rule in India, Munnar was the summer resort of the Government officials. The natural beauty, calmness and mild cold climate throughout the year makes it the favourite tourist place There are about 30 tea plantations in and around Munnar. The tea estates, hills, lakes and forests inside Munnar range exposes it's beauty. The Munnar hills are covered by tea plants which makes the feeling of seeing a wide green carpet. Later in the afternoon explore Munnar and the tea estates. Overnight at the hotel. |
Day 4- Munnar - Kodaikanal Traveling time : 4 hrs |
Breakfast at the hotel. Later proceed to Kodaikanal: The Prettiest Hill Station In South India. The Little Town Is Set around A Star Shaped Lake. Green Wooded Hills, Scenic Walks and Waterfalls Make It A Beautiful Summer Retreat at an altitude of 2100 m. Later visit Kodaikanal Lake, Coaker's Walk, Astrophysical Observatory, Fairy Falls, Kurinji Andavar Temple. Later relax amidst the scenic surroundings Overnight at the hotel. |
Day 5- Kodaikanal - Madurai Traveling time : 4 hrs |
Morning at leisure. Afternoon depart for Madurai - is Tamil Nadu's most happening cultural arena. Today, Madurai is the thriving pulse of Tamil Nadu industrial growth. Truly, we believe that the Gods are here to stay! Situated on the banks of river Vaigai, Madurai is the second largest city of Tamil Nadu, a southern state in India. Madurai is more than 2,500 years old and has a rich cultural heritage and history. Madurai was an important cultural and commercial centre even as early as 550 AD. Madurai was the capital city for the great Pandya kings. Upon arrival check in at hotel. Overnight. |
Day 6- Madurai |
Morning, visit Meenakshi Temple - this is Madurai's greatest landmark. The temple is an excellent example of Dravidian architecture, with
Gopurams covered from top to bottom, in a profusion of multi coloured images of gods, goddesses, animals and mythical figures. It has many beautiful mandapms, the most outstanding being the hall of thousand pillars with images of gods, goddesses and men represented in this exuberant display of Dravidian sculpture. It is the most alive temple of India. Thereafter, visit Shiva temple, the musical pillars and the Palace of Tirumala Nayak, which is an example of the architectural mastery of the
Nayak - a blend of Hindu and Saracen architecture.
In evening visit Meenakshi temple to attend a special ceremony with melodious music when lord Sundarasvehvara, goes to rest beside goddess Meenakshi. Return to hotel and overnight. |
Day 7- Madurai - Thekkady Traveling time : 3 hrs |
Breakfast at hotel. Later proceed for Thekkady or Periyar National Park set high in the ranges of the Western Ghats in Kerala. Arrive and check in to the hotel. In the afternoon we set out to discover the park. Animals found here include elephant, sambar, gaur and wild Animals found here include elephant, sambar, gaur and wild boars and birds like ibis and grey heron. The visit is done in a boat to view animals with a bit of extra luck we may be able to see the rare tiger as well. Overnight at the hotel. |
Day 8- Thekkady – Trivandrum – Kovalam |

Padmanabhaswamy Temple is dedicated to Vishnu and is a landmark in the city. Upon arrival check into the hotel. Later in the afternoon visit Zoological Gardens : One among the best designed in Asia - set among woodland, lakes, and well maintained lawns - but some of the animals enclosures. Padmanabhapuram Palace : The palace is superbly constructed of local teak and granite, and stands within massive stone town walls. The architecture is exquisite, with rosewood ceilings carved in floral patterns, windows laid with jewel floral patterns, windows laid with jewel coloured mica, and floors finished to a high polish with a special compound of crushed shells, coconuts egg white an the juices of local plants. Continue your journey to Kovalam – sand beaches, the cool breeze that silently ruffles the coconut lagoons, the lush waves that extend an embracing welcome and the silence that magnifies the zenith of a cool wave - the beach sands of Kovalam, the exotic beach resort down Kerala that has its history blended into the warm sands of time.
