Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi and meet the ITS representative at the arrival hall
and transfer to hotel. Relax & overnight at the hotel in Delhi.
Day 02: Delhi
Morning proceed on a tour of Old Delhi visiting the Majestic Red
Fort, Chandni Chowk & the busy bazaars. Later in the afternoon
visit New Delhi, visit the Rashtrapati Bhawan, the one-time imperial
residence of the British viceroys; the India Gate, a memorial raised
in honour of the Indian soldiers martyred during the Afghan war;
the Laxmi Narayan Temple, built by the Birlas, one of Indias
leading industrial families; Qutab Minar, built by Qutub-ud-din
Aibek of the Slave Dynasty; and the lotus-shaped Bahai Temple.
Evening free to relax, overnight at the hotel.
Day 03: Delhi - Rishikesh (260 kms - 5 hours)
Morning drive to Rishikesh - an important point for beginning trips
to Himalayan shrines Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath.
Arrive Rishikesh and check in at hotel. Afternoon sightseeing
tour of Rishikesh includes Bharat Mandir the oldest temple; Nilkanth
Mahadev believed to be the place where Lord Shiva drank the poison
churned out of the cosmic ocean; Raghunath Mandir and Triveni Ghat.
Overnight in Rishikesh.
Day 04: Rishikesh
Day return excursion to Haridwar. Visit Har-Ki-Pauri, the sacred
Ghat constructed by King Vikramaditya in the memory of his brother
Bhartrihari. The temple of Chandi Devi atop the Neel Parvat on the
other bank of river Ganges. Overnight in Rishikesh.
Day 05: Rishikesh - Chandigarh (180 kms - 4 hours)
Morning drive to Chandigarh. Arrive Chandigarh and check
in at hotel. The capital of two states, Punjab & Haryana, Chandigarh
is independent Indias most modern and well-planned city, designed
by Le Corbusier. Day free to relax, or visit the shopping malls
of Chandigarh, overnight at the hotel.
Day 06: Chandigarh
Morning sightseeing tour of Chandigarh including Rock Garden, constructed
almost entirely out of city garbage; Rose Garden 30 landscaped acres
containing a variety of 1600 roses; Museum & Art Gallery housing
a good collection of sculptures and paintings.
Day07: Chandigarh - Shimla (125 kms - 3 hours)
Morning drive to the Summer Retreat of the British
Shimla'. Arrive Shimla and check in at hotel. The former
summer capital of the British in India, and the present capital
of Himachal Pradesh. Evening visit the Mall road approachable by
lift and cars & are not allowed on the mall road of Shimla.
Overnight in Shimla.
Day 08: Shimla
Morning sightseeing tour of Shimla including The Mall - Shimlas
principal promenade and best for a leisurely walk. Jakhoo Hill is
the highest point in Shimla and offers a panoramic view of the city.
Glen forest is one of the most fascinating picnic spots in Shimla.
Summer Hill has pleasant shady walks in quite surroundings. Chadwick
Falls are situated amidst thick forest and gives a breathtaking
view. Prospect Hill is a popular picnic spot that gives some beautiful
views of the region. Overnight in Shimla.
Day 09: Shimla - Manali (280 kms - 7 hours)
Morning drive to Manali. Arrive Manali and check in at hotel.
Set amidst forests of towering cedars, circled by snowy peaks and
the unending roar of the Beas as a constant companion, Manali offers
unparalleled opportunities for trekking, nature walks, angling and
other winter sports. Overnight in Manali.
Day 10: Manali
Morning sightseeing tour of Manali including the legendary Hadimba
Devi Temple and the picturesque Tibetan Monastery. Go a little bit
away from the town, and you come across the legendary Arjun Gufa,
the historically famous village Jagatsukh, the serene Nehru Kund,
the picturesque landscapes of Kothi and Solang Valley, besides the
9,000-foot-high Rahla Falls also known as the snow points of Manali.
Day 11: Manali - Dharamshala (260 kms - 6 hour)
Morning drive to Dharamshala, enroute visit the Temple of Baijnath
near Palampur. Arrive Dharamshala and check in at hotel.
Set against the backdrop of the dramatic Dauladhar mountains, Dharamshala
is perched on the high slopes in the upper reaches of Kangra Valley.
It is a charming town with elegant bungalows nestling in thick conifer
forests. Evening free to relax, overnight in Dharamshala.
Day 12: Dharamshala
Morning sightseeing tour of Dharamshala including various monasteries
and Mcleodganj often called Little Lhasa and the residence of the
Dalai Lama, which has been here for over three decades. The monastery
has larger-than-life images of the Buddha, Padmasambhava and Avalokteshwara.
Also visit ST. JOHNS, the charming dressed stone church in
the wilderness.
Day 13: Dalhousie
Morning drive to Dalhousie. Arrive Dalhousie and check in
at hotel. The hill station of Dalhousie is named after a former
British governor-general, and is full of old world charm and exudes
a lingering aura of colonial times
Day 14: Dalhousie
Morning take an excursion tour of Khajjiar known as Switzerland
of India. Enjoy horse ride around Khajjiar Lake. Later drive back
to Dalhousie & enjoy the snow clad mountain peaks easily visible
by naked eye from Dalhousie. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 15: Dalhousie - Amritsar
Morning drive to Amritsar. Arrive Amritsar and check in at
hotel. Visit the famous Golden Temple, a glittering gold and marble
temple which is one of the holiest Sikh shrines. Durgiana Mandir
is a temple with a golden dome and silver doors; Jalianwala Bagh
has a memorial built in memory of unarmed victims massacred by the
British. Overnight in Amritsar.
Day 16: Amritsar - Delhi (By train at 0900 hrs)
Morning transfer to Railway Station to board train for Delhi. Assistance
on arrival in Delhi, transfer to hotel. relax and overnight in Delhi.
Day 17: Delhi - Back home.
In time transfer to airport to board the flight back home.
